HAWORTH’S oldest theatre group hope to repeat the success of last year’s highly-popular spring concert From the West End to Haworth West Lane.

Haworth West Lane Baptist Amateurs will perform this year’s show, entitled The Sound of Musicals, on Friday and Saturday May 4 and 5. During three performances the chapel will resound to the sound of songs and other items from a selection of shows.

A spokesman said: “These will include The Sound of Music, South Pacific, Man of La Mancha, The King and I, The Wizard of Oz, The Boyfriend, Camelot, Gigi and finally Carousel.

“There are no prizes for guessing which song will be sung at the end of the show from the last show mentioned!

“Whilst our wonderful chorus will perform most of these there will also be items from our talented soloists, and opportunities for the audience to join in with some of their favourites.”

The show is each evening at 7.30pm, as well as on the Saturday at 2.15pm.
