KEIGHLEY singer Isaac Tyler has returned from a “super-successful” trip to the USA.

He returned to discover he had been picked up by major national promoter DHP Family in the UK.

Former Oakbank School student Isaac chilled in New York for a few days after his three weeks performing across Virginia.

His spokesman Sue Dyde said: “Isaac played traditional American venues, house concerts, a rootsy arts and music festival, open mics, a singer/songwriter showcase, and an amazing jam session with a group of grassroots blues musicians from the deep south of Georgia.

“A Virginian radio station tracked him down after a clip of his set at the festival was posted online, and invited him in for an interview and to perform live in the studio.

“They were blown away by Isaac, saying he had amazing talent and was a compelling and remarkable writer.

“America’s enthusiastic response to Isaac and his music has had an impact back here in England, leading to the young artist being approached by a number of festivals, venues and a major UK promoter.”

Although Isaac’s music associates, Leeds band The Dunwells, were touring America at the same time the two acts not manage to meet up.

Sue added: “The high-energy, bluesy song Isaac wrote with them titled Fire Down proved to be a showstopper for them all the way from SXSW gigs in Austin Texas to the Rockwood Music Hall in New York.

“The song is also performing really well on Spotify.”

Isaac will open for The Dunwells at Kirkhamgate, Wakefield, on May 19.

He will himself play the Lending Room in Leeds on June 1; the Shuttle Shuffle Music Festival in Bradford on August 26; and the opening event of the Industry Barbers Barista Lifestyle Lounge in Haworth this summer.
