GROOVY Happening is back on track for a night of dancing. Favourite bands are returning to the Haworth music club to entertain regulars and newcomers alike and get them on their feet.

Spokesman Ann Wiles said Ruth Nielsen would set the night off perfectly with a selection of songs people know.

She said: “Ruth Nielsen is a professional piano vocalist and private music teacher living in Oxenhope. She performs regularly around the community and teaches piano and singing to young and adults.

“Ruth is Danish and completed her Degree in Jazz at Leeds College of Music 10 years ago. She is now pursuing her solo career and enjoys sharing her passion for music.”

Also taking the stage at the Groovy Happening’s regular venue, the Parkside Social Club in Butt Lane, will be Stuck in a Stance.

Ann said: “Stuck in a Stance are a four-piece local band who go down really well when they perform at Groovy Happening. They play songs from such greats as Dire Straits, Black Sabbath and Lynyrd Skynyrd. A couple of punk songs and some rockabilly music complete their set to get you upon the dancefloor.”

More dancing will come from the headlining six-piece party band, Radio City. Ann said: “Their wealth of experience offers a great mix of music from Tamla, rock and disco! We will hear vocalists Sarah and Lesley singing their hearts out to some fantastic classic tracks.”

Completing the line-up will be Natasha Lea Jones, formally of the duo Pooka, who has recently been working with Egyptian filmmaker Alzamkhshary who has written and directed a video for her song Come To Call from her latest album release Soar.

Natasha Said: “The project was made possible with internet social working, for example. Facebook and by sending files across the internet.”
