POPULAR songs from household-name musicals will delight Haworth audiences on June 15 and 16.

Songs from shows like My Fair Lady, Oliver! and The King And I are only part of a presentation dedicated to the late Haworth musical director Terry Lofthouse.

The show at the West Lane Baptist Church will also feature Gilbert and Sullivan’s one-act operetta Cox And Box.

The concert organiser, Terry’s director brother Michael, promises “musical delights” recalling Terry’s amateur career with groups like the West Lane Baptist Amateurs and Ilkley Amateurs.

Michael and Terry Lofthouse for many years helmed the innovative Gilbert and Sullivan shows in Haworth. Terry died in January after a long illness.

Performing Cox and Box, which is set during a notorious fictional court case, will feature former compatriots and admirers of Terry including Roly Robertshaw, John Ramsden and Richard Buxton.

The show will be on June 15 and 16 at Haworth West Lane Baptist Church. There will be wines and nibbles from 6.30pm with a chance to reminisce about Terry, and the show will begin at 7.30pm.

Tickets cost £10 on the door, including refreshments, and proceeds will go to church funds.
