BINGLEY author Linda Green will lead a course on writing novels aimed at new authors.

She has been enlisted by Rufus Purdy, who helped launch the careers of several bestselling authors, through his Write Here agency.

The latest course lasts 12 Thursday evenings and costs £699 and will be led in Leeds by experienced tutor Lynda, who aims to find unique, talented new voices in the region.

The course, which runs from September to December, will feature weekly writing workshops, one-to-one tutorials, teaching sessions on topics essential to the writing of a successful novel, and a session with a top literary agent or publisher.

Originally a journalist on regional newspapers, tutor Linda Green left her job to write her first novel and the result – I Did a Bad Thing – was published by Headline in 2007.

Since then, she’s become the bestselling author of eight books. Most recently, her psychological thriller After I’ve Gone was a top five Amazon Kindle bestseller in 2017.

Rufus has worked with authors Jane Harper (The Dry, Force of Nature), Nicholas Searle (The Good Liar, A Traitor in the Family), Caz Frear (Sweet Little Lies) and Laura Marshall (Friend Request), as well as 39 other now-published novelists in his role as editor at the Curtis Brown Creative writing school.

Rufus said: “I’ve been aware for a long time that an increasingly London-centric publishing industry means talented writers outside the capital struggle to get the help they need and put their novels into the right hands.”
