ONE OF the most popular jazz and swing bands in the world is due to play Keighley Blues Live.

The “bullet-proof” British combo can be seen at the Octagon club in Bradford Road, Sandbeds, on December 9.

A club spokesman said: “Larger than life and twice as rambunctious, the band's all-action no-holds-barred approach to the American rhythm & blues, jump, jive and swing will have your feet tapping from the first number.

"Dazzling musicianship, riveting stage performances - it’s music that comes with a cheer-up guarantee!

“When you experience it live you discover what a real show can be - wholehearted, full-on, exhausting and unforgettable.

“Everywhere they go they hook more devotees. They’ve played all over Europe, up as far as Russia. Even more impressively, they’ve stormed across the US, much to the surprise of the natives!”

Support comes from the Backyard Burners, whose country, bluegrass and rock 'n' roll sound is described as perfect to get the audience in the King Pleasure mood.

Tickets cost £13 in advance by visiting keighleyblueslive.co.uk, or £15 on the door if tickets are still available.

The club this week announced that it would host concert on May 19 by New Yorker and Blues Hall Of Fame inductee Sari Schorr And The Engine Room.

The spokesman said: “If you caught her performance on the International Stage at this year's Great British R&B Festival you will know just how thrilled we are about this!”
