PIONEERING contemporary folk trio Lau will perform in Saltaire to celebrate their first ten years.

Lau is made up of Kris Drever (vocals, guitar), Martin Green (accordion, wurlitzer, keys, electronics) and Aidan O’Rourke (fiddle).

Together they have garnered four awards for ‘Best Group’ at the BBC Radio 2 Folk Awards and also appeared on the Later… With Jools Holland TV show.

Individual members have won multiple awards and recognition for their solo work.

Lau have now released their first retrospective album, entitled Decade The Best of 2007 – 2017, based on suggestions from their fans.

Kris and Martin started out intrigued by what might happen if they synced the left hand of Martin’s accordion with the right hand of Kris’s guitar so tightly they became like one instrument. Martin joined later.

Lau can be seen at Victoria Hall in Saltaire on June 18, and the Howard Assembly Room in Leeds on November 25.
