POPULAR local vintage singer Kitty La Mare will sing songs from the 1940s at Keighley Playhouse.

She is among performers in An Evening Of Entertainment on Saturday, September 9 in aid of Sight Airedale.

The evening, directed by Mike and Debbie Ellison, includes songs from various eras and songs from the shows including local singer Kitty with her speciality act from the Second World War era.

There are also comedy sketches, a comedy mind-reading act, and scenes from The Bench, an original play by local playwright Jamesine Cundell Walker.

A spokesman said: “Acts involved are all local to Keighley, and many have appeared several times at Keighley Playhouse and other local theatre venues.”

There will be a raffle with proceeds to Sight Airedale, with the top prize a pair of season tickets for Keighley Playhouse.
