A HAWORTH pub is holding own X Factor competition while the TV show runs through the autumn.
Competitors at the Old Sun will be knocked out one by one each Friday night after singing in front of regulars.
Landlord Dave Wilson will even adopt a theme for each week’s songs in a similar way to Simon Cowell’s TV tournament.
Dave hopes newcomers will join some of regular singers from the West Lane pub’s long-running Friday evening karaoke.
There will be a £500 cash prize for the winner, and a £100 prize for the runner-up. One of the competitors knocked out during weekly heats will return as a “wildcard” for the final.
Prospective contestants can register on the Fridays of September 15 or 22, with heats beginning the week after. Call 01535 500 719 for further information.
