KVU Singers are staging their Young Performers Concert at Christ Church in Skipton.

The Sutton-based mixed voice choir hosts the concert each year to showcase exceptional young musical talent and give them a chance to perform in public.

Past performers have included accordionist Thom Hardaker, from Sutton, who studied in St Petersburg and is now a renowned performer on the international circuit.

This year the four guests will include Maddison Goode on the saxophone.

Playing since primary school, Maddison has now just begun studying saxophone and the voice at the Junior Northern College of Music.

Another performer, Nathan Li, will be playing piano and cello. The 13-year-old studies at Chetham’s School of Music in Manchester. He also plays violin and the organ.

Nathan’s brother Isaac Li, currently in year eight at Bradford Grammar School, will play the piano at the Young Performers Concert.

He also plays the viola and has studied the piano since he was six years old.

Serene Liu, also in year eight at Bradford Grammar School, will be playing the piano and violin.

Serene plays the oboe as well and she is currently a pupil of Dame Fanny Waterman, the founder of the Leeds Piano Competition.

The concert will be on Sunday, October 15 at 2.30pm. Tickets cost £7, with under-16s going free, and are available by calling 01535 653917 or on the door.
