ONE OF the most in-demand bands on the folk circuit is coming to Keighley.

Blackbeard’s Tea Party are described as a formidable seven-piece that the Huffington Post called THE band to see at Glastonbury.

Gutsy folk rock is promised in a high-octane show on November 24 at the Octagon, on Bradford Road at Sandbeds.

The Blackbeards will be joined by Felix Hagan, described as “enigmatic and unique” by Loaded magazine, and his band The Family.

Octagon owner John Pennington said: “Felix is an explosion of high-energy glittering madness, a mix of camp, pop, punk and classic rock, a complete entertainer with an almost unrivalled talent.”

Support will come from Neil Brophy, who has been praised by Jo Whiley (Radio 2) and Steve Lamacq (BBC 6 Music).

John said: “I am proud to present this concert and hope people will turn out to see what is certain to be a memorable night.

“All those performing are sure to become household names. It may be a tea party but the bars will be open.”

The triple-bill show will feature 15 performers, and costs £12.50 per ticket.

Keighley Blues Live will be back at the Octagon to host gigs US-based Samantha Fish Band (November 26) and Canadian International Blues Challenge winners the JW Jones Band (December 8).

Also a Keighley Blues Live gig, the Billy Walton Band will be at the Octagon on January 19 with former members of Southside Johnny And The Asbury Dukes.

Famous blue comedian Roy Chubby Brown will return to the Octagon on December 14. A double bill on December 27 will feature Lee Lard’s official tribute to comedian Peter Kay and a Michael Buble tribute from singer Dan Patchett.
