LEGENDARY local guitarist John Verity is back on home territory with a gig at the Octagon in Keighley on February 23.

He will headline a gig organised by Bingley promoters BAC2Live in conjunction with Keighley Blues Live who regularly present shows at the Bradford Road venue.

John’s performance coincides with the release of his latest CD Blue To My Soul, which this month was riding high in the UK blues chart.

John, described as a veteran performer at the top of his game, with immaculate and passionate playing, promises blistering blues with a rockier edge.

John has had a varied career, supporting rock luminaries such as Jimi Hendrix, Janis Joplin, The Who and John Mayall’s Bluesbreakers.

He has recorded with Ringo Starr, Keith Emerson, Greg Lake, Zombies, Colin Blundstone, Phoenix, Charlie and Argent.

John is also an established producer of other artists including Saxon, Charlie, Motorhead and Phoenix, but a priority has always been live performance.

A spokesman said John has been touring regularly over the past couple of years and had now embarked on an extensive 2018 tour.

The spokesman said: “With his unmistakable and distinctive soulful blues edge to both singing and playing, John is pleasing old friends and winning over many new fans.”

One reviewer recently said: “You are left under no illusion that you are in the hands of a proper musician and vocalist who would have no problem filling a stadium, packing out any club and bringing a festival audience to their feet.”
