Green Day – Revolution Radio

GREEN Day have been the giants of American pop-punk for years and have even had a musical created out of their songs.

But while their latest album boasts the confidence of musicianship of a band at the top of their game, it also comes across like a noteworthy debut by some young punk upstarts.

It burns with the energy, brashness and tunefulness of teenage musicians who’ve sweated blood to create their first set in dad’s garage before finally been given a chance to play live.

And yet, while this collection of songs would blow the roof off a little rock club, they cry out for the full arena treatment.

Like previous Green Day albums it’s immediately likeable, almost all the songs standing out with originality, but you just know you’ll still be listening six months down the line.
