EAST RIDDLESDEN Hall’s house and gardens will close on Sunday for winter but there’ll still be plenty to do here during the festive season.

The Walking for Health group will continue every Tuesday at 2pm until December 22.

The free low-impact walk around our local area is suitable for all abilities, and the group leaders will make your walk safe and enjoyable. The estimated finishing time is 3pm.

The tearoom and shop will continue to be open between 11am and 4pm every weekend in November and December until December 20.

The tearoom offers a cosy place to meet up with friends and the shop is the perfect place to hunt out any last-minute Christmas gifts.

This year the tearoom will be offering a festive afternoon tea throughout November and December. Priced from £13.95 per person, the afternoon tea will include a selection of festive favourites such as brie and cranberry sandwiches and iced fruit cake.

No booking for the afternoon tea is required and access to the tearoom and shop is completely free. Limited rooms in the house will also be open to view on Saturdays and Sundays over all the weekends between noon and 2pm.

The shop has a great selection of seasonal products in stock to help put a bit of sparkle into your Yuletide, and when you shop with us you'll also be helping us care for the property, as the money you spend with us all goes towards the upkeep of this special place.

If you’re in need of some last minute stocking fillers or some inspiration to help you get started on your Christmas shopping, then this year’s Christmas Fair is the place to be.

The Christmas fair will be held in the Airedale Barn for two days on December 5 and 6 December between 11am and 4pm. The Grade II listed barn, festooned in twinkly lights, provides the perfect festive atmosphere for the fair, and admission is free.

All stall holders are local, independent traders selling good-quality items such as cards, jewellery and scented gifts to help get you into the festive spirit.

Making a visit to Father Christmas adds that extra bit of magic to the festive season for little ones (and the young at heart). So it’s good news that the man himself will be making a special stop off at East Riddlesden Hall.

This year, Father Christmas will be running group party sessions in the beautifully decorated Great Hall. Youngsters will enjoy hearing tales of his magical adventures, be invited to join in with music time, and have fun playing the festive games.

There’ll be a warm welcome for everyone in these group sessions, a specially-wrapped gift, the opportunity for a photograph with the man himself, access to the garden trail and the arts and crafts room where seasonal activities will await.

Sessions will be held at 12.15pm and 2.15pm, and will be tailored under four year olds. Tickets are £7 per child and booking is essential, by calling 0844 2491895.
