THE EASTER weekend begins and ends with guided walks in Bradford district.

Peter Beaumont will lead a four-mile walk on Good Friday up the hill from Ilkley to the aptly-named Calgary.

Meet Mr Beaumont at Ilkley Lido at 11am. The circular walk will continue to Nesfield then back to Ilkley through fields and woodland.

Easter Monday will offer a circular walk to Hope Hill, taking in Shipley Glen, Baildon Moor, Baildon Green and the riverside.

Meet David Anderson at 10.30am at the Roberts Park entrance, over the bridge at the bottom of Victoria Road in Saltaire, for the six-mile walk.

Volunteers from Bradford Council’s Countryside Service will Bingley begin their spring and summer season of walks on April 5, with the five-mile Rylstone Ramble heading through hamlets and farmland.

Tewitt Lane is the title of April 12 walk from Saltaire, taking in local packhorse trails and returning along the Dalesway link.

A seven-mile circular walk setting off from Stanbury on April 16 will take walkers along the Pennine Way and the Yorkshire/Lancashire border to find the Old Bess stone.

Walkers will celebrate Saltaire Heritage Weekend on April 17 with a circular walk from Roberts Park to explore land donated by a Shipley benefactor.

Wharfe Wander, on April 23, is a circular three-mile walk along the River Wharfe from Burley in Wharfedale.

A walk to Ling Park and Primrose Hill on April 27, will begin from the Old Packhorse Bridge in Ilkley and climb up to the Upper Austby and back down via Middleton Lodge and Middleton Woods.
