CHANCES to explore some of the scenic and historic landscape around Saltaire and Bingley are available later this month.

People are invited to take part in a pair of guided walks on Sunday November 20 and on Wednesday November 23.

The first of these is a six-mile circular walk.

Participants should meet Kenneth John Allen at 11am at Saltaire Railway Station, in Victoria Road.

The route follows good paths with some uphill sections.

The November 23 trek follows a four-mile circular route around Micklethwaite and will take in the distinctive three and five rise locks on the Leeds and Liverpool Canal.

Walkers are asked to meet Jeff Brodrick at 11am at Bingley Railway Station. This particular trek is not suitable for people with restricted mobility due to a number of stiles on the path.

Anyone wanting to take part in either walk should bring a packed lunch, strong footwear and waterproof clothing.
