BANKHOUSE Bottom is the title of a six-mile guided walk on Saturday, November 26 at Tyersal.

The circular walk, led by Barbara Walker, will begin at 10.30am at the junction of Dick Lane and Sutton Road.

The surprisingly rural walk will incorporate a dismantled railway, farms, Pudsey Beck and Windmill Hill.

Bradford Council’s guided walks continue on Wednesday, November 30 with Bridges Galore, a circular winter walk incorporating Ilkley’s notable viewpoints. Meet Howard Lloyd at 11am at Ilkley Swimming Pool.

By The Edge, on December 4, is a five-mile circular walk for families and led by Ken Allen Senior, which starts from Bar Lane, Riddlesden, at 10.45am.

Participants will walk along the Leeds Liverpool Canal and up to Holden Bridge, then back through Spring Woods and fields.

A Hill And Some History is on offer on December 7, during a five-mile circular walk over Baildon Hill with splendid long-distance views.

Meet Eddie Nash at 10.30am on Shipley Glen opposite Bracken Hall Countryside Centre.

A Candlemass Eve on December 10 will offer a five-mile circular walk to Oxenhope and back, starting from the church steps at the top of Haworth Main Street in time for carols around the tree. Meet David Anderson at 10. 30am.

It’s Mince Pies For All on December 14 as Julian Dale and David Anderson lead a four-mile circular walk beginning at 10.45am at Leathley Avenue, Menston (beside the recreation ground).

What follows is a steep climb up to Hawksworth and a drop towards Tong Village with a Christmas treat on the way round.
