Leaflets warning against benefit fraud are being circulated in the district as part of a crackdown.
Benefits Minister Anne McGuire said the Risking It All pamphlets were being distributed in 50 hotspot areas nationally.
The admission came in a parliamentary written answer to Cullingworth and Denholme MP Philip Davies, pictured. He said: "I am pleased that they are targeting benefit fraud but it is a concern that Bradford district has been included on a list of the top 50 areas where this is happening."
The leaflet gives examples of people who have been caught cheating the system. In 2006/7 the Department for Work and Pensions and Bradford Council took criminal action against an average of 16 people a month, as a result of techniques used by anti-fraud teams across the district.
Councils will soon be able to bid for a share of £1.5 million to test new technology to catch fraudsters. Voice Risk Analysis technology spots changes in a caller's voice enabling operators to spot false information.
