Damart's show of support for breast cancer campaign
Home shopping giant Damart, which has a warehouse at Steeton, has celebrated a decade of supporting the Breast Cancer Campaign.
The company marked the milestone by staging a light show on the outside of its headquarters in Bingley.
During the ten years, Damart has raised more than £154,000 for the charity.
Marketing director John Bottomley said: “We’ve reached such a milestone supporting the Breast Cancer Campaign and we wanted to put on a show for all to enjoy and celebrate our successful partnership with the charity.” Funds have been raised by selling limited-edition pink vests every year, with a donation from each one going to the cause.
Ikram Dahman, fundraising director at Breast Cancer Campaign, said: “We’re thrilled to have enjoyed such a positive and successful partnership with Damart over the last ten years.
“Breast cancer is the most common cancer in the UK and each year there are 48,000 women diagnosed with the disease. All the money that Damart has raised has been vital in helping us to fund innovative world-class research into the disease.”
This year’s pink vest is available from damart.co.uk.
