Woman, 79, is Silsden crash victim

A 79-year-old woman was seriously injured following a road crash in Silsden.

The woman, a passenger in a VW Golf, was flown by air ambulance to Leeds General Infirmary.

Her condition this week was described as critical.

Police are appealing for witnesses to the accident, which happened at 1.39pm on Saturday in Keighley Road.

A blue Toyota Yaris travelling towards Steeton was in collision with the silver Golf, which was being driven in the opposite direction.

The VW subsequently collided with two stationary Renault vans and a blue Peugeot travelling from Silsden.

The road was closed for most of the afternoon while emergency services dealt with the incident.

Witnesses should contact the Western Area Roads Policing Unit on 101.
