Plans for a new play area for Woodhouse and Spring Bank are to be discussed at a public meeting on Wednesday.

Residents attending a neighbourhood forum will be asked what sort of facilities they would like to see for children and young people. They will also be invited to join Bradford councillors and officers in efforts to push the long-term project forward.

Council staff, who are looking at potential sites, stress the proposals are at an early stage and no sources of funding have yet been identified.

Residents have called for a playground in the Woodhouse and Spring Bank area for several years.

Keighley East Ward officer Sue Gledhill, who will chair Wednesday’s forum, said: “Facilities for children and young people always come up as a high priority for residents, so this is the time to make your views known.

“We are keen to encourage the involvement of local residents in helping to identify ways we can work together to develop provision locally.”

The forum starts at 7pm in Hainworth Wood Community Centre, Woodhouse Road. There will also be discussion on activities at the centre, and issues such as the local environment, crime and community safety.
