Police are appealing for the public’s help to trace a teenager suspected of breaking into a house in West Lane, Sutton, in broad daylight on Thursday, October 25.
A witness saw a young man on the drive of the property at about 1.40pm and a short while later noticed that the lower panel of a door was missing and resting against the wall inside.
The householder later returned to find an untidy search had been made of two rooms, but nothing had been stolen.
The male was not seen again and there were no other reports of suspicious behaviour in the area.
He is described as white, in his late teens, 5ft 6ins tall and of slim build. He had short dark brown/black hair and was clean shaven. He was holding a mobile phone and wearing a farmer’s-style green three-quarter length jacket.
“We are asking for assistance in identifying this male for the purposes of elimination from the investigation,” said a police spokesman. Anyone with information is asked to contact DC Paul Smith at Skipton CID on 101.
