Youngsters have got involved with preparations for a Charity Family Extravaganza, which will take place in Keighley this weekend.

The event, being organised by the Street Club Play Rangers group to raise cash for Children in Need, is in Highfield Community Centre from 1pm to 3pm this Saturday.

Children are making buns and biscuits in advance and will also be setting up some of the games which will form part of the day’s entertainment.

Play Rangers co-ordinator, Hamid Miah, said the event would include Mehndi, waxing, hair and beauty treatments and manicures, along with stalls, a raffle, auction, bouncy castle, arts and crafts and plenty of food.

He said he and his colleagues also hoped to arrange for a face painter and a family portrait photographer to be present.

“The play rangers are funded by Children in Need so we wanted to give something back,” he added. “There will be plenty of activities and we want lots of families to come.”

Everyone is welcome at the event, most of which will be held indoors. However, Mr Miah said there would be some sports activities on the multi-use games area outside. Admission will cost £1.
