The Craven Accordion Orchestra based in Cross Hills is again organising the regional accordion championships.

Many local accordion players will compete in the north central area championships at Beckfoot School in Bingley, next Saturday, November 24.

The contest, now in its 17th year, will also feature the Yorkshire Music Festival which has classes for piano and guitar.

Craven Accordion Orchestra leader Harry Hinchcliffe said his musicians worked throughout the year raising money for the championship.

He said: “The festival has grown over the years providing a platform for musicians to experience the art of playing live music at a respected level.

“The festival is no different this year and will host children and adults playing for the first time to musicians studying to be concert artists.”

Members of the the public are welcome to go along.
