On Tuesdays the Mobile library will be by the bus terminus on Thwaites Brow Road from 3.45-4.15pm and on Long Lee Lane, by the doctor’s surgery, from 4.20-4.50pm.
The Busy Bees baby and toddler group meets in St Barnabas Church Hall on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 9.15-11am.
The Art Group meets in the Village Hall on Tuesdays and Fridays from 1.30-3.30pm. There are places for beginners or people with experience. Contact Barbara on (01535) 669914.

There is a line dancing class for beginners at St Barnabas Church Hall on Wednesdays from 1-2.30pm. This class welcomes new members.

Tuesday night bingo at the Dickie Bird is proving very popular and the cash prize money is worth winning. Be there for the start at 9pm. There is a free supper during the evening. Wednesday quiz night with games and competitions including Strike It Lucky, starts at 8.30pm, also free supper. Open first Sunday in the month for English breakfast 10am-noon. Each Sunday from 1pm Sunday roast. This Sunday there is a birthday party to celebrate the first year of the Dickie Bird, from 1pm onwards.

Keighley Retired Men’s Forum meets in Keighley Playhouse on Devonshire Street on Thursdays starting at 10am. This Thursday there will be a slide show by Alwyn Pickles entitled “Forum Walks Part 1” and next week there will be a talk by Derek Callon about the “The Untamed White Savage”.
Thwaites Brow Post Office can now sell euros over the counter and it is now an outlet for the National Lottery and it is open every day.
Keighley/Thwaites Brow Townswomen’s Guild meets in Long Lee Methodist Chapel on Monday at 7.15pm. There will be a party to celebrate their 52nd birthday.
This Saturday there will be an autumn fair at Long Lee Methodist Chapel from 10am-1.30pm. The usual stalls, raffle, a tombola and refreshments. Light lunches will be available from 11.30am.
The morning service at Long Lee Methodist Chapel was led by Janet Clark. She spoke about signs and their meaning, avoiding them could be disastrous. The New Testament reading was by Adrian Moore and his wife, Nola, was the Gospel reader. Music was provided by Brenda Wilkinson. The Rev Canon Bruce Grainger was the celebrant at the said holy communion service at St Barnabas Parish Church. He spoke of the danger of pride leading us into wrong actions and beliefs. He was also the celebrant at the later sung parish communion. Readers were Joyce Samuels and Marie Driver. Billy Clayton spoke about the work of a diocesan reader and asked people to consider what God had called them into His church to do. Intercessions were led by Canon Bruce and the chalice administered by Carl Pybus. Organist was Billy Clayton.
