Susan Broadhead, from Skipton Street Angels, spoke to Keighley Soroptimists about the work of the group.

The Street Angels are volunteers who work on a rota basis, patrolling Skipton on Saturday nights.

They are on duty from 9pm, starting at High Street and heading around the town centre. They engage with revellers and passers-by.

Members give help and advice where it is needed and if there is anyone requiring assistance, having had too much to drink and unable to be helped by friends or acquaintances, the Angels arrange for them to be taken home in a taxi and contact other people if necessary.

The Angels are backed by Skipton Town Council and other sponsors and work with Churches Together, with the support of the police.

This year they won a trophy from the town council for their community work.
