Cowling’s new village hall will open on Saturday.
MP Julian Smith will cut the ribbon to officially open the building at 11am, and activities will run until 4pm.
“A few bolts need tightening up, some things require a lick of paint and it needs a thorough clean,” said Cowling Village Hall Management Committee member Victoria Simmons about the finishing touches being made to the building.
Half a dozen groups are in place to start using the building in January, and many of them will be attending the official opening to showcase their activities.
The day will feature demonstrations of ballroom dancing, indoor bowls and Zumba. A buffet lunch will be served, and there will be children’s craft activities, a quiz and a family disco.
