Keighley jeweller’s gift to help hospice

A Keighley jeweller has raised more money for the children’s hospice which looked after his terminally-ill baby son.

Ten per cent of the proceeds from a day’s sales of Chamilia beads at Raffles, in the Brunswick Arcade, are going to Martin House. The £400 raised included two donations, which will be sent directly to the Boston Spa hospice.

Raffles owner Liam McQuaid will put the remainder towards a ring which will then be auctioned at the Martin House Masquerade Glitter Ball, at Harewood House, next March.

“That event normally raises up to £50,000 and by auctioning a ring there we can bring in more funds,” said Liam.
