Keighley’s Fell Lane Scouts will rent their hut to more local groups after receiving a £2,500 grant for refurbishment.
The group wants to make maximum use of facilities including new interior flooring and outside surfacing.
The 1st Keighley group received the money from the Community First fund for Keighley West Ward.
The wooden hut and its surrounding area, on Holme Mill Lane, was in need of repair after being in use for 30 years.
A spokesman for the Community First fund said the previous floor was dangerous and very worn, but had now been replaced with wood-effect flooring.
A spokesman said: “The hut now has the capacity to be rented out to small parties of children and has Kiddicare in there during each day.
“The external driveway and pathways have been surfaced to make them safe.”
Michael Cunningham, the Group Scout leader, said the work had vastly im-proved the potential for groups to use the building.
Community First provides grants to groups in neighbourhoods including Fell Lane, Braithwaite and Bracken Bank.
