Bradford Council is planning to turn a former cemetery building in Utley into a house.
The Utley Cemetery Lodge on Skipton Road was built in the mid-19th century and was used by the authority as the office for the neighbouring cemetery.
Earlier this year councillors proposed closing the facility, despite fears it would leave the cemetery unsupervised and prone to vandalism. A petition to keep it operational included over 700 names, but in June the council’s executive decided the closure should still go ahead and the building be sold.
Christine Waterhouse, from the council’s asset management department, has submitted a planning application for change of use from office to dwelling.
A decision will be made late next month
