A man jumped into the River Aire at Keighley on New Year’s Day in an attempt to evade police.
The West Yorkshire Police helicopter was scrambled to Keighley Golf Club at about 4.20pm after the man tried to swim across the river. He and three other men were arrested in connection with the incident, which followed reports of a vehicle being driven on the course.
Shortly afterwards, the police helicopter team tweeted: “Man now safe and on way to a warm shower and a dry cell #doh!”
