New youth forum in members plea
11:00am Sunday 6th January 2013 in News
Keighley social housing landlord Incommunities has launched a youth forum.
The aim is to give young people – including those in the Keighley area – a say about housing and other issues affecting them.
The forum began with a ten-pin bowling evening, and members are meeting monthly to get the project off the ground.
They have already helped set up a Facebook page and are currently designing a logo for the group.
Pam Chahal, from Incommunities’ customer involvement team, said: “The forum is about giving our younger customers a voice.
“The group meets within an informal and supportive environment. They are encouraged to learn new skills, and some of the group have been having a go at being DJs with the help of staff at BCB Radio.”
Anyone aged 14 to 25 living in an Incommunities property who is interested in joining the forum should contact Pam on 01274 257227 or text 07837 999207 – start the text message with YF.
