Prices look set to increase in the New Year

Keighley rail travellers have been warned by transport authority Metro to watch out for New Year ticket price rises.

They have been reminded that the cost of MetroCard, MetroDay, DayRover and Rail Zones six and seven tickets have increased as of yesterday.

The new prices apply to tickets bought on or after January 2. Anyone who bought a ticket before this date will be charged the 2012 price. Full details of the new prices can be found under the Tickets and Passes tab at wymetro.com.

Metro administers the MetroCard and DayRover schemes on behalf of bus and train operators. It says the rail prices reflect the extra three per cent agreed in 2006, to pay for six additional trains to provide 1,700 extra seats on peak-time train services to and from Leeds.
