People in Keighley wanting to lose a few pounds or get into shape are being urged to sign up for two new projects.

The programme is being arranged by Keighley Healthy Living (KHL), and includes a weekly course featuring weigh-ins, advice on portion sizes, recipes and how to find out the amount of salt, sugar and fat in foods.

There are also healthy weight lifestyles sessions, focusing on encouraging people to incorporate physical activity and eating well into everyday life.

KHL health development officer Melanie Hey said: “Both projects are an ideal way to help people fulfil their New Year’s resolutions to be healthy, lose weight or get in shape.”

The courses are held at University Academy Keighley in Green Head Road.

Healthy Weight Lifestyles, at £2.50 a session, is on Tuesdays at 5.30pm to 7.30pm. The healthy weight course – £3 a session or £15 for six weeks, if paid in advance – is held on Thursdays from 7pm to 8.30pm, starting on January 24 and running for 12 weeks.
