Council cancels weekend sports fixtures due to weather

All football and rugby matches scheduled to take place on Bradford Council-owned pitches in Keighley and across the district this weekend have been cancelled, the authority has announced.
The move, due to the frozen ground and anticipated snow, includes school pitches.
Ian Bairstow, the Council’s strategic director for environment and sport, said: "We will contact all league secretaries that we can to let them know about the situation."
