Keighley slimming classes do the trick for weightloss wonders
9:00am Sunday 27th January 2013 in News
Members of local Weight Watchers classes have been dieting for love as well as their health.
Susan Crabtree reduced her blood pressure by losing two-and-a-half stone after being referred by her doctor.
And Danielle Davidson has already lost 5st 7lb from her 15st frame as she prepares for a summer wedding.
Susan attends classes run by Denise Gant at Keighley’s Salvation Army base, while Danielle attends Denise Walker’s classes in town.
Susan is one of several of Denise Gant’s slimmers who took 12-week weight loss courses commissioned by GPs. She put on weight after skipping meals and eating the wrong types of foods.
She reduced her blood pressure to a healthy level and decided to continue her weight loss, dropping five dress sizes. She can now play with her granddaughter without getting out of breath.
Denise said: “Susan now eats regular meals and is able to enjoy all her favourite foods following the ProPoints plan, which for Susan is a way of life.”
Danielle, 26, of Nessfield Road in Keighley, joined Weight Watchers in January 2011 because she felt frumpy and older than she was, and wanted to be ready for her wedding.
She said: “I wanted to take my children swimming and have the confidence to wear a swimming costume and do normal things with them without getting out of breath.”
Danielle said the support of Denise spurred her on through the weight loss.
She added: “I am having a burlesque/Moulin Rouge hen party and cannot wait to finally fit into my outfit.”
