A Burns supper was held in Haworth on Saturday to celebrate the 254th anniversary of the bard’s birth.
A total of 35 guests attended the event at the home of Jens and Andrea Hislop.
The traditional format was followed, with the haggis being piped in and addressed in Robert Burns’ famous words. Keighley News columnist Ian Dewhirst gave a humourous speech in his toast to the poet’s immortal memory.
There were further toasts, songs and readings of Burns’ work, with Mr Hislop giving his annual recitation of Tam o’ Shanter.
Guests formed a choir and performed two choral items and two trios of Burns’ songs, with David Root at the piano.
And the evening culminated with the whole company joining in all five verses of Auld Lang Syne.
