Eight arrests have been made in Keighley as part of a major police blitz on drugs and guns.
A suspected cannabis factory was also uncovered during the fortnight-long crime crackdown, codenamed Operation Sabredale.
And a man was arrested in Bradford as part of the initiative, resulting from the seizure of two guns in Keighley last December.
This week police chiefs hailed the raids as a major success. Chief Insp Dan Greenwood described the crackdown as “one of West Yorkshire’s biggest operational seizures of drugs, firearms and offensive weapons”.
Across Bradford district, drugs worth £1.3 million – along with 12 imitation guns, two stun guns and CS gas canisters – were seized.
Also, 130 vehicles and more than £290,000 in cash were found in a series of raids. A total of 100 arrests were made.
In Keighley, a warrant was executed at a house in Upper Hird Street and an amount of suspected cannabis recovered. A 17-year-old youth and a woman aged 41 were arrested on suspicion of possessing class B drugs with intent to supply.
Both were bailed pending further inquiries.
A suspected cannabis factory was discovered at an address in Pickles Street. A 41-year-old man was held on suspicion of producing cannabis and also possessing class A drugs with intent to supply. He was bailed as well.
Following a raid on a property in Devonshire Street, a 27-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of handling stolen goods. And a 34-year-old man was held at a separate nearby address on suspicion of the same offence.
At Sand Street, a 30-year-old man wanted on warrant was arrested.
Also, two men – aged 32 and 23 – attended Keighley Police Station and were arrested, one on suspicion of possessing class A drugs with intent to supply and the other for alleged theft.
Chief Insp Greenwood added: “This is an indication of the level of our investigations over what are key priorities for both the police and the public.”
