Having a ball has raised more than £2,000 for Yorkshire Cat Rescue.

About 80 people attended the event at the Hilton Hotel in Bradford, with live music and compering provided by members of the band Full Signal.

Guests enjoyed an auction and raffle, along with a magic act by The Great Aziz.

Charity fundraiser, Paula Godfree, thanked all sponsors who donated goods for the raffle and auction, and for supporting the champagne drinks reception at the start of the evening.

“We were absolutely delighted to see everyone there,” she said. “A big thanks to all those who came – we had a fabulous time.

“Hopefully, the event will help us get more supporters, too – there were some new faces there.”

The night included an appearance by Newcastle resident Gary Tiplady, who is a supporter of the charity and a professional ‘Jaws’ James Bond villain look-alike.
