Love was in the air at Steeton Primary School.
A Valentine’s themed assembly was held on the special day itself – last Thursday – and pupils learned more about the saint.
They also studied the history of Valentine’s Day and its traditions.
Key Stage Two co-ordinator, Susan Whitford, said: “When we found out the date for our assembly was February 14, it was obvious what our theme would be!
“The children have enjoyed learning about St Valentine and re-enacting his story.”
Headteacher John Cooper said: “All the children perform two assemblies each year to their parents and families.
“With each assembly the children do, they grow in skills and confidence – the whole school benefits by sharing in their learning.
“Year 5/6’s Valentine assembly was another great example of how we keep our creative curriculum both relevant and engaging for all our pupils.”
