Four Keighley men arrested in injunctions case
7:58pm Friday 8th March 2013 in News
Four Keighley men have been arrested on suspicion of breaking injunctions imposed on them last month.
The men – two aged 27 and the others 34 and 30 and all from the Highfield area of the town – were arrested on Saturday on suspicion of breaching injunctions handed out by a county court judge on February 20.
The injunctions were an attempt by police to cut down on gang-related violence in Keighley, and marked the first time West Yorkshire Police had used civil court powers locally.
The injunction put in place banned the men from being together in public, together with several other conditions.
The four have been released on bail, and will appear at Bradford County Court on Tuesday.
Inspector Tony Reed, of the Keighley Neighbourhood Policing Team, said: “As we have said before, anyone who breaches the terms of their injunction will be brought back before the courts to face justice.”
