This group came up trumps again with their summer concert during the Haworth 1940s weekend -- and what an enjoyable evening's entertainment it was! There were plenty of wartime songs interspersed with humourous sketches and monologues.
The difference this year was that the audience had to participate in almost every song - word sheets supplied - and we did with enthusiasm generated by performers we are more accustomed to seeing in Gilbert and Sullivan roles.
Both shows were sold out - no doubt due to the magic formula of Anne Mott on the piano, Pamela Dimbleby directing the music and Michael Lofthouse producing the show. A very moving tribute to the war dead with the Hymn to the Fallen from Saving Private Ryan ended the show followed by the theme song - We’ll Meet Again. Perhaps again, again... and again in 2014!
