A planned expansion to an animal rendering plant – to which dozens of residents and MP Philip Davies have objected – could get the go-ahead next week.
Omega Proteins, based at Erlings Works in Half Acre Road, Denholme, has applied to construct a single-storey building to house a boiler.
The plans go before Bradford Council’s regulatory and appeals committee on Tuesday, and officers have recommended them for approval despite 25 objections.
Opponents claim the company has not complied with previous planning conditions, and raised fears the new building would lead to an increase in traffic to the site. The boiler has already been built, but is not currently operational.
Mr Davies, whose constituency includes Denholme, claimed the company was using “piecemeal” applications to expand.
