A Beechcliffe woman has proved she’s a cut above by giving a boost to a charity providing wigs and hair pieces for children undergoing cancer treatment.
Heather Chadwick-Masters, who works as a Bradford Council home care assistant, was sponsored to have her own flowing locks cut. She donated 16 inches of her hair to the Little Princess Trust.
And she also raised more than £500 in sponsorship in the process.
The haircut was carried out by mobile hairdresser, Leanne Wilson, from Exley Head, who is a friend of Heather’s.
Heather said: “These kids suffer enough and I felt this was a very good, worthy charity.
“I didn’t want my hair to go to waste. I said I’d do this in December last year, and it’s taken me until this month to get round to it – I wanted to stick to my commitment.
“I was sponsored by work colleagues, friends and family. I want to thank everyone who supported me, especially my friends Sam Hainsworth and Elaine Hook, and, of course, Leanne.”
