A teenager has been mugged at knifepoint in Riddlesden.

Police officers are appealing for witnesses following the incident, which took place at the junction of Grange Road and Bradford Road yesterday.

A spokesman for Airedale and North Bradford CID said the 17-year-old woman was robbed at 4.40pm.

He said: “She was walking along the road when approached by a man who had his hands in his pockets.

“The man then threatened her with a knife before making off with her handbag, which contained money and personal belongings. The handbag was later recovered.

“The man we want to speak to in connection with this was described as aged 19 to 20, about five foot nine tall and of slim build.”

He added that the robber was Asian, wearing a navy blue coloured baseball cap with a white logo on the front, a long sleeved zip up dark coloured top, dark jeans and a light coloured scarf or face covering over the lower part of his face.

Anyone with information should contact Airedale and North Bradford CID on 101.
