Keighley chartered accountancy firm Clough & Company is marking its 60th anniversary.

Founder, Harry Clough, visited the company’s offices to help launch a series of celebratory activities and to enjoy a special milestone of his own – his 90th birthday.

A time capsule was buried and a fish and chip supper served, and Mr Clough was presented with copies of national newspapers from the day he was born.

Events planned during the year include a charity ball, Three Peaks challenge, triathlon, a trip to York Races and various internal competitions, which will raise money for Bradford Cancer Support and Marie Curie.

Practice chairman, Steven Gash, said: “Since Clough & Company was formed a lot has changed in the industry, but the company’s core values – which have been key to our success – remain largely the same.

“This is an exciting year for us, and it’s fantastic to be supporting two very deserving charities, as well as celebrating the anniversary.”

Mr Clough said it was fantastic to see the firm going from strength to strength.

He added: “The company has successfully diversified and now has specialist departments offering all accountancy disciplines, as well as expanding into several other related areas, which should stand it in good stead for the next 60 years!”

l Clough & Company has won deals with two renowned West Yorkshire manufacturing and engineering companies.

Halifax Rack and Screw, which engineers precision gear racks and screws and nuts, has appointed the firm to oversee all its accounting activities.

And Bradford-based Hindle Group, which manufactures and exports precision gears, cables and controls, as well as re-manufacturing engine components and transmissions, has brought in the firm to provide corporate tax and compliance services and carry out audits.

Clough & Company managing partner, Nigel Bullas, said: “Both are significant business wins for Clough & Company, and we’re delighted to be working with them to develop and achieve their financial objectives.”
