Oakworth woman Caroline Pullich – Barclays’ head of relationship banking in Yorkshire – has welcomed a new partnership between the bank and the county’s marketing body.
Barclays has joined Welcome to Yorkshire’s Y30 corporate membership scheme, which aims to improve the perception of the county and help develop its economy.
Mrs Pullich said the partnership could help businesses maximise benefits from the visit to the region next summer of the Tour de France Grand Depart, passing through Keighley and the Worth Valley.
She said: “Working with Welcome to Yorkshire provides us with a fantastic opportunity to demonstrate we are passionate about promoting the region and helping our customers achieve their ambitions.
“Le Grand Depart in 2014 presents an opportunity for businesses of all sizes across the region, and we want to ensure they are financially prepared to make the most of this unique event.”
Welcome to Yorkshire chief executive, Gary Verity, said: “We believe the county will benefit if businesses work together in partnership, and that is something we are committed to doing with Barclays.”
