Keighley woman Niomi King hopes to make a success of her new business by proving she’s a cut above the competition.
Her shop – the Beauty Boutique in Skipton – specialises in wigs, extensions and hairpieces, as well as hair accessories.
The Mount Pleasant store also sells bridal and prom jewellery, tiaras, body jewellery, cosmetics and beauty products.
Niomi began her working life in Keighley as a 17-year-old office junior with Keybury Fire & Security, progressing to become administration manager.
She spent six years with Halifax Bank before transferring to Skipton Building Society, working at branches including Keighley.
Niomi set up on her own business after working for a friend in Keighley selling hair extensions and gaining industry-recognised qualifications in hair craft.
She said: “When the business was being sold this year, it seemed like the perfect opportunity to open up for myself.”
