St Andrew’s Church – Holy Communion at 8.15am and 10am. Tea and scones will be served in the Parish Rooms and the Church will be open for visitors from 2.30-4.30pm.

The Computer class will be held in the lower hall at Farnhill Methodist Church on Monday at 2.30pm.

The Village Pump – the over-50s group, meets in the lower hall at Farnhill Methodist Church on Wednesday 23.30pm.

The free book and jigsaw puzzle exchange will be held in the Kildwick & Farnhill Institute on Thursday, June 6, 10am-12.30 pm. Tea and coffee will be available.

The Kildwick & Farnhill Institute is preparing their 2014 calendar. Entries of photos (maximum three per entrant) featuring scenes taken in the parishes of Kildwick and Farnhill should be sent to candcbrigham@ gmail.com by July 31. Entries must meet rules given at farnhill.co.uk or kildwickfarnhill.org.uk.

The meeting of Farnhill Parish Council was held on May 7 in Kildwick/ Farnhill Institute, chaired by Counc G Harling. Four members of the council were present. Apologies were received by Coun D Atkinson, NYCC Rep Coun. P Mulligan. CDC Rep Coun P Fairbank.

Coun G Harling was elected chairman for a yearr. No nominations were put forward for vice-chairman, so it will be decided at the June meeting. Declaration of Acceptance of Office of chairman was completed by Coun G Harling. No members of the public were present, but an e-mail from Kate Fulton stated that there had been a couple of significant donations for the book exhange and some new participants due to the publicity from the flyer distributed round the village and the notice in the Craven Herald.

It was resolved that meetings continue to be held on the first Tuesday in every month for a further year with no meeting in August.

The Parish Council have had complaints about work carried out at the Arbour by a volunteer without the consent of the Parish Council. The Parish Council gave permission a short while ago for two steps to be completed at the bottom of Lower Arbour and stated that no further work be carried out without the permission of the Council or it may be regarded as criminal damage.

A request was received from John Lofthouse asking for permission to place a seat at Arbour Top in memory of his father who did a lot of work there. Permission was granted provided that the seat be maintained in good condition.

The Parish Council resolved to carry out the work at Arbour Top & Lower Arbour recommended by the tree surgeon in his report and also to have the brambles cut back.

The Internal Auditors report was received by the Council and the Annual Governance Statement for the Annual Return for year ended March 31, 2012 was completed by the Council and signed by the chairman.

The Parish Council appointed Coun I Fulton as representative for YLCA for a year. Gary McKinney was appointed as representative trustee for Farnhill Parish Council on the Peggy Wilson Trust for a further four years. Craven Coun I Fulton to put forward for co-option onto Craven Area Committee.

The notice for the Annual Parish Meeting listing business to be transacted was completed by the Council and signed by the chairman. Coun G Harling had prepared a draft questionnaire which was approved by the Council.

The next meeting will be Tuesday, June 4 in Kildwick/Farnhill Institute at 7.30pm. All members of the village are welcome to attend
