Carers and older people in Keighley are being invited to new monthly sessions to help them unwind.

“Time for Me” will offer practical tips on relaxation, boosting energy levels and thinking positively.

The project – organised by the Carers’ Resource – is launched next Thursday, July 4, at Keighley Healthy Living, in Scott Street, between 10am and noon.

There will be an informal introduction to the course and therapists will be present. Light refreshments will be served.

Sessions will take place on the first Thursday of each month. The cost will be £2.

There will be aromatherapy and massage on August 1, gentle yoga and breathing on September 5, singing for fun and breathing on October 3, massage on November 7 and Christmas crafts and relaxation through art on December 5.

Booking is not essential.

Carolyne Coyle, volunteer project co-ordinator at the Carers’ Resource, said: “The Time for Me sessions will help to give people ideas and practical tips on how they can relax and take time out to look after themselves.

“The idea is to give people the tools for their own ‘wellbeing toolkit’ which they can dip into at any time.

“Life can be demanding and hectic and we often forget to look after ourselves, and this especially applies to carers.

“We also want to help support people in tackling stress.”
